Wine Spectator Award
of Excellence
Four Consecutive Years · 2026 Best of Award
The Wine Spectator Award of Excellence is one of the most recognized honors in the restaurant wine world. Earning it once takes real commitment. Earning it four years in a row — and being elevated to the Best of Award of Excellence in 2026 — means the commitment never wavered.

Elevated to Best of Award of Excellence
In 2026, bin6south was raised from the Award of Excellence to the Best of Award of Excellence — Wine Spectator’s second-highest honor, awarded to only a small fraction of the tens of thousands of restaurants the magazine reviews worldwide each year.
Where the Award of Excellence recognizes a well-chosen list, the Best of tier demands real depth — typically 350+ selections showing serious vertical range, mature vintages, and excellence across multiple wine regions. It is the difference between a very good list and a genuine destination cellar. You can taste that difference in every pour Nanci pulls.
What It Actually Means
Wine Spectator evaluates thousands of restaurant wine lists each year. The Award of Excellence goes to restaurants with lists that offer a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.
It is not handed out for volume or price. It recognizes curation — the same thing Nanci brings to every evening at bin6south.

How We Earned It
Over 200 labels chosen by sommelier Nanci — not for name recognition, not for margin, but for what’s actually in the bottle. Burgundy, Rioja, Willamette Valley Pinot, Rhône blends, skin-contact whites, grower Champagne. The list spans the wine world without padding it with filler.
The list also evolves. New producers get added. Bottles that don’t earn their place get cut. That’s why the award keeps coming back.
